"Like a drug addict, my bedroom needed a rehabilitation."

I had a productive day yesterday. I was able to fix and clean my room at long last. I should have done this last December, before the new year (2010) started but I was too lazy to do it. What prodded me to do this? I'm getting nasal allergy lately to the point that I already have cough and colds. I have been sneezing constantly which can be attributed to the previous state of my room. My room was full of trash and dust everywhere because it had not been cleaned for a long time since last year. The air that had circulated was accompanied by dust particles which came blowing out of the dirty stand fan that I've been using. I know that good housekeeping is not my hobby or a past time, but I realized that if I don't do it now, the more that I will get sick. I usually spend 80% of the time inside my room when I'm home.

Luckily, I was able to convince my household helper to help me out with cleaning my room. Without her, I could not have done it. Basically, the tasks that were required to fix my room included sweeping and mopping the floor, wiping the dust on all furnitures, books, and things like the stand fan, changing the bed sheets and pillow cases, re-arranging the furnitures, and lastly throwing all the clutter which filled an extra large trash bag by the end of the day. I still need to change the curtains and perhaps just replace it with new blinds as well as buy new pillows from SM. I'm also thinking to have the walls repainted and buy some new furnitures like a swivel chair for my computer table and hopefully I can buy a wall mounted plasma TV when I get my 13th month pay this December. I also need to buy some air fresheners or potpourri to make my room smell really good and last but not the least, to have my aircon unit prepped for use again.

After I completley finish this household project, whic was unplanned, I now look forward to go home every single day after school work so that I can enjoy and appreciate my clean and comfortable surrounding. Now, the feeling of going home is more relaxed and the value attached to it is priceless.
